At Best Kite Shop, we want your kite-flying experience to be as joyful as a perfect breeze. While we carefully package each kite—from our playful Animal Spinners to high-performance Bowed & Dihedral models—we understand that sometimes returns or exchanges are necessary.

Our Return Policy

You may return most items within 15 days of delivery for a refund or exchange. To be eligible:

  • Item must be unused, in original packaging with all tags
  • Include original receipt or proof of purchase
  • Certain specialty kites are final sale (see below)

Non-Returnable Items

For safety and hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns on:

  • Custom or personalized kite collections (including certain items from our Collections Delta Kites and Collections Parafoils lines)
  • Limited edition kites marked as “final sale”
  • Any kite showing signs of use or assembly

How to Return an Item

Follow these simple steps to return your kite:

  1. Contact Us: Email [email protected] with your order number and reason for return within 15 days of delivery
  2. Wait for Approval: Our kite experts will review your request (typically within 2 business days)
  3. Package Securely: Repack the kite in its original packaging—treat it as carefully as we would our delicate Bird or Bug kites

Return Shipping

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error. We recommend using a trackable shipping service—just like we use DHL or FedEx for your original delivery.

Exchange Process

Want to exchange your Beginner kite for an Advanced model? Follow the return process above, and clearly indicate:

  • The item you wish to exchange
  • The new item you’d like (check availability at funwithkites.com)
  • Any price difference will be charged/refunded

Refund Information

Once we receive and inspect your return:

  • Processing Time: 3-5 business days
  • Refund Method: Original payment method (Visa, MasterCard, JCB, or PayPal)
  • Timing: Allow 5-10 business days for the refund to appear in your account

Note: Shipping costs are non-refundable (except for defective items).

Damaged or Defective Items

If your 10.5 Foot Double Box Delta arrives damaged or isn’t soaring like it should:

  1. Contact us within 7 days of delivery at [email protected]
  2. Include photos of the damage/defect
  3. We’ll arrange a replacement or refund at no additional cost

International Returns

For customers outside the U.S. (excluding some remote areas in Asia):

  • Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility
  • Customs fees are non-refundable
  • Allow extra time for international shipping
